Graduates specializing in medical biotechnology work with a team to conduct medical research in academic or industrial settings. In university laboratories, these individuals assist scientists by performing experiments that are part of a medical research study.

In industrial laboratories, biotechnologists help develop and manufacture pharmaceutical drugs or vaccines. Both types of laboratories are involved in research designed to treat or prevent human diseases such as heart disease, 癌症, 艾滋病, 遗传疾病, 还有很多其他的.
