儿科多元化委员会

The 儿科 has an active 多样性、公平和包容 (DEI) Committee focused on promoting a sense of belonging 和 respect for all faculty, 居民, 和工作人员, 目前由 Olamide Ajagbe医学博士 和 凯伦Teelin，医学博士，MSEd. 委员会向所有人开放, 和 is currently made of up 12 faculty members, 4居民, 还有6位非医师同事. Examples of DEI initiatives 与in the department include:

  • A bias checklist for all curricular materials for use when developing educational materials, developed by one of our faculty members, 艾米·卡鲁索·布朗，医学博士，理学硕士，理学硕士. 请看这里的清单

  • All Gr和 Rounds speakers are asked to include DEI as aspect of their talk. At least one Gr和 Rounds per year is specifically focused on a DEI topic. Recent topics include disparities 和 access challenges related to children’s mental health 与 a focus on the emergency medicine setting, 和 holistic health for children in the foster care system.
  • Third year 居民 have the unique opportunity to provide primary care to Native American children one morning per month at the Onondaga Nation Clinic.
  • Several programs 与in the division of General Pediatrics address the needs of underserved populations, including a clinic specialized for primary care for children in foster care in Onondaga County, 由 史蒂文·布拉特，医学博士 与 Jan Bach，医学博士 as well as a “diaper bank,” 由 冬季浆果.
