Geriatrics Fellowship

Our Geriatric Fellowship is a one-on-one, individualized program. We specialize in focused training sessions to enhance the learning process of our students. Once completed the fellow will have expertise in managing multiple illnesses in both an ambulatory and long term care setting.

Specific Goals - the fellow will gain skills in the following areas:

• Practicing prevention for the elderly
• Management of specific syndromes
• The geriatric assessment
• Geriatric medical management
• Ethical considerations in both ambulatory and acute care settings
• Elder abuse
• The role of the physician in home health care
• End of life care
• Understanding roles of the multi-disciplinary team

In addition to the rules and regulations, The Department of Medicine provides various benefits and educational resources for each resident.
